This study examines the impact of the functions of the Point Four Program on health and medical care in Iran within the framework of the First Development Plan. The main research question is: What were the functions of the Point Four Program in the field of health and medical care in Iran, and how can the United States’ motivations for these aids be conceptualized? The research hypothesis states that the functions of the Point Four Program in the field of health and medical care included improving public health conditions, reducing diseases, and providing access to safe drinking water, while the United States’ motivation for these aids was to strengthen Iran’s economic and social dimensions in order to prevent the spread of communism in the region. The research method is qualitative–descriptive; however, to enhance the precision of the analysis, quantitative data and historical documents were also utilized. The required data were collected through the study of official documents (such as Documents of the Point Four Program, archives of the Plan and Budget Organization, and reports from the Ministry of Health from 1948 to 1953), reputable books and research articles, as well as available statistical reports. To increase the validity of the findings, the sources were cross-compared, and data were triangulated across multiple documents. The findings indicate that these aids had tangible impacts on reducing contagious diseases, improving nutrition, and enhancing health and agricultural infrastructure.
