Withthe completedominationofBritain inEgyptin 1882,this colonial powerneededto pushthepath of educationalmodernizationinEgyptto adirectionwhereits political,economic,socialandculturalgoalswould be realized,therefore,effortsshouldbemadetoreformexisting educationalpoliciesandapply newpoliciesaccordingto BritishinterestsTheupcomingresearch istrying to answer the question,whatwerethegoalsofBritishcolonialism in reformingandchanging theEgyptianeducationalsystem, andwhatpoliciesdid itimplementtoimprovethe Egyptian educationalsysteminlinewithitsowninterestsForthis purpose,thestudyoftheEgyptianeducationalsystemin the pre-British periodwasfirstinvestigated,andthenthe process of British colonial educational policieswas examined and analyzed for the goals, policies, and the consequences for the Egyptian educational systemThis research, using descriptive methods and trend analysis, and based on the data of mainly Arabic and English first-hand sources, has answered this questionThe findings of the research show that the educational system of Egypt had taken the first steps of breaking away from traditional education and educational reform before colonization by theefforts of Muhammad AliPasha,but the continuation ofthecultural andeducational presenceofFrance asa politicalrival ofBritaininthefaceoftheeffortsofthe Egyptian nationalists willchallengethefutureofBritish colonialism and its military and political superiorityfacedThis challenge, along with the presence of an increasing English population in Egypt and the need for administrative staff and the Englishization of the Egyptian administrative structure, were the goals of the British colonialism to reform the Egyptian education systemActions such as making the English language official, reducing the education budget and canceling free education, reducing scholarships to be sent abroad, taking over important positions in education and changing curricula, were the actions taken by British colonialism in order to achieve its goalsAlthough these reforms led to the weakening oftheArabicandFrench languages,the identitycrisis ofEgyptians,thecreation of a class ofEgyptianelites similarto Britishcolonialism, the stratificationofeducationand as aresult discriminationandthedeepening ofsocialand economicgaps intheEgyptiansociety,but inthe long term,it couldnotlead totheEnglishizationof the structure of theEgyptiansociety
