Abstract

In the process of the victory of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, social forces were present in the form of different social layers. The teachers and students were one of the most important new social forces that sought to carry out fundamental reforms in the way power was distributed under the guidelines of Imam Khomeini in the country due to the blocking of the political space and non-participation in the power structure.

The teachers and students of Qazvin province challenged the political structure of the government in different ways and engaged in revolutionary activism by continuously participating in protests and marches. The purpose of the research is to investigate the actions of teachers and students of Qazvin city towards the ineffective policies of the Pahlavi government and their role in the political mobilization of the masses of the people in the process of the victory of the revolution. The main question is, what role did the teachers and students of Qazvin city play in the formation and political cohesion of social forces in the victory process of the Islamic Revolution? In the hypothesis of the research, it can be acknowledged that teachers and students are among the most important active and critical social forces in contemporary social movements, who, with their extensive presence in the streets and the political mobilization of passive forces, have a large contribution to creating a comprehensive revolutionary action. An idea that also applies to the political behavior of teachers and students in Qazvin city.
