Abstract
The question of Philip II's anti-Achaemenid policy is still disputed by scholars. However, the existing classical sources do not provide much information on the fact that the Macedonian king had plans to attack Iran before resolving the issue of domination over Greece. Although Philip monitored developments in Asia, no source has analyzed this issue in detail. Until now, most scholars have concentrated on analyzing Philip the Macedonian's plans to invade Achaemenid territory. The research carried out in this study attempts to show that Philip of Macedon's actions in Greece were a necessary prelude to the implementation of his real goal, the conquest of Asia Minor and the wealth of its cities.
